This tutorial will show you how to make pixel text like this;
Open up Paint shop pro, I'm using psp8 but it should work in most other versions
Make a new page about 200 x 200 pixels and fill in the background the colour you want the outline of the word to be mine is pink.
Then click on the text tool and put your setings like mine;
The font can be different as long as its a pixel font but I suggest you keep the size around 6 and 8. Chose the same colour as your background but a lighter shade mine will be light pink.
Then go to Selections > Modify > Expand
Then a pop-up should appear click ok then make the number of pixels 1 then press ok.
Then press ctrl and c at the same time then press ctrl and v at the same time. You should get the word pop up as a new image. Now go on the brush tool select the normal square brush size 1 hardness 100 opacity 100 and make the colour white. Then put a dot in the corner of each letter like this;
When you've done that you should have something that looks like this;
