This tutorial will show you how to make 3d text like this;
First open paint shop pro (I'm using version 8 but the other versions should work too) and start a new image about 300 x 100 pixels. Click on the text tools and make sure your settings are like mine,
You can change your font and size, a chunky font looks better. choose your colour then type your text. Then go to Effects > 3D Effects >Iner Bevel
This should come up;
make sure your settings are the same and then fiddle around with the colour sometimes it takes a while to get it right.
Then you should end up with something like this;
